We’re delighted to welcome Mae to the Firechief® Global team as our new Marketing Executive.

To help everyone get to know her a little better, we asked Mae about her background, what she’s looking forward to in her new role, what she’s been learning about fire safety, and a little about life outside of work.

Can you tell us a little about your professional background and what led you to join the Firechief team?

I was at university studying Marketing and absolutely fell in love with it and all the different aspects that come with it. After graduating, I started looking for a role where I could put my skills into practice and continue to develop them. 

I found myself in a position where I had the opportunity to create a website, build social media platforms and develop a brand completely from scratch, which was a fantastic experience and taught me so much. 

During that role, I realised that I wanted to be part of an established marketing team where I could learn from others, build on my skills and continue to grow. That’s when I came across Firechief. I really admired the company culture and could see that it was a business that genuinely valued its people and their development. The opportunity to join such a great team, learn from those around me and continue building my marketing experience really stood out to me. 

What is your role at Firechief, and what are you most excited about in your new role?

My role at Firechief is Marketing Executive, and one of the things I’m most excited about is getting involved in different projects and campaigns across the business. I really enjoy the collaborative side of marketing and having the opportunity to work with and learn from different people throughout the company. I’m looking forward to continuing to develop my skills, grow in confidence and, over time, become a strong and valuable member of the team. 

In the realm of fire safety, what innovation or trend is most exciting for you right now?

Currently, I’ve really enjoyed learning more about our new Vape Bin and understanding all the different elements that go into bringing a new product to market. From a marketing perspective, it’s been exciting to explore how we can best promote the product, while also collaborating with different teams across the company. This has given me the opportunity to understand more about how the product works, what makes it stand out, and the problem it has been designed to solve. It’s been a great learning experience and something I’ve really enjoyed being involved in. 

What's one fire safety tip or piece of advice that you think everyone should know?

That the smallest things can cause a fire, so always be prepared. It’s something I probably didn’t think about enough before working within the industry, but I’ve become much more aware of fire safety in everyday life. I think having that awareness and knowing what to do in an emergency is something everyone should have 

Outside of work, what passions or hobbies do you pursue?

Outside of work, my passion is travelling. I have recently visited South America and continue to want to explore more of the world and experience different cultures and beautiful places. Day to day, I love to exercise and spending time with my family and friends. 

If you had to describe yourself in 3 words, what words would you choose?

Sociable, outgoing and determined. 

Looking ahead, what’s one goal you have for your first year at Firechief® Global.

My goal within my first year is to make a positive difference within the marketing team and bring my own ideas and creativity to the different areas of marketing we work on. I’m looking forward to developing my skills, learning from the team and gradually putting my own touch on projects and campaigns, while contributing to the continued growth of Firechief.

Thank you for making me feel so welcome and already apart of the team. Everyone in my team and the whole company are so inspiring and I really look forward to growing my skills and experience with such amazing people. It is an honour to be a part of such a great company.
